This interesting 8 minute video includes amazing facts about technology and globalization and how it relates to the world we live in today. Originally produced for a Colorado high school staff of 150 in August 2006 and posted on YouTube, as of June 2007, it has spawned 5 million conversations around the globe. The questions at the end of the video are thought provoking. I couldn’t help thinking about The Church and where it fits in the big picture.
Fisch embedded the video on his blog page (scroll down toward the bottom) and explains the purpose for producing it.
Shift Happens was produced by Karl Fisch and Scott McLeod, two educators passionate about education and technology and its ability to transform the world as we know it.
An excerpt from McLeod’s web bio –
I believe in the transformative power of technology and its ability to empower individuals in ways that were unimaginable a mere decade ago. I believe that schools are approaching the point of dangerous irrelevance when it comes to preparing students adequately for their digital futures. The pace of change in schools is too slow and the pace of change in technology is too quick. I am a strong believer in public schools, but we need a new paradigm. My work focuses on the leadership necessary to effectuate this new, transformative paradigm.
What about your church? Is your leadership team re-thinking its approach to ministry and how your church will relate to the world that is being re-made right before our eyes?
