Emmanuel Faith Community Church – Escondido, CA
What Can You Do to Help:
During the 2004 fires, Emmanuel Faith served as an Evacuation Center. Although we inquired to be with one through the Red Cross this time, we were turned down due to our close proximity to the active fire and evacuation zones.
However, we are helping to operate two evacuation centers in other locations, at Mission Hills Church (San Marcos) and also at Calvin Christian Schools (overflow for Escondido High School). Please also consider helping at Mission Hills High School.
If you desire to help at Mission Hills Church, please feel free contact them at (760) 759-2233. You will need to check in with a Red Cross staff person when you arrive.
(Sorry but we do not have a contact # for the high school evac center -- maybe on the TV newscasts -- and the Calvin Christian center is fully staffed for now.)
Also, if you wish to donate items, please do not bring them to EFCC or MHC. Contact the Evac centers first to see what they need, if anything.
What Else Can I Do?
Please, please pray for:
• the winds to abate
• the fires to be put out
• lives and houses to be spared
• opportunities the Lord may give you to assist family, friends and neighbors
Again, please know that our prayers are with you and for your family's safety.
Please note: With our office closure, please be aware that we have limited ability to respond to your e-mail inquiries at this time. Thank you!

& The Church Staff
Below is a short note from Dennis Keating, senior pastor at Emmanuel Faith in Escondido, CA. Mission Hills is a church plant from Emmanuel Faith.
Emmanuel Faith buildings are fine. Escondido was ablaze around the perimeter. Lots of evacuations. Only 1 member with house gone as of today (that we know). Mission Hills Church is evac. center for red cross. Ask others to pray. We are shut down for a few days as most of staff are evacuated for their homes. Lots of opportunities for ministry right now.
News from some pastors and ministry leaders in our networks –
Dave Reynolds, senior pastor at Chorus Church – Winchester - near Temecula, CA
Please pray specifically for New Song Church in Oceanside as they house hundreds of people and are pretty overwhelmed as number rise. We are focusing on our efforts on helping them.
Please pray we can get down there this afternoon with requested supplies. Not sure what roads are available.
Bill Hoyt, Executive Coach at NexStep Executive Coaching – Diamond Bar, CA
At the present time, we are safe. There are 16 fires, none under control and they are literally all around us. It is not inaccurate to say, California is on fire from Santa Barabara to the Mexican border. One of our BGC churches in Sand Diego County burned to the ground. One other is under siege right now.
I think we will be OK. Pray for the fire fighters. They are heroes in the truest sense of the word.
Leadership Network staff continue to pray for the churches, ministry leaders and people in California affected by the wildfires. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
More updates later pending new information.
