One of the leadership communities that I (DJ Chuang) convene is the Asian American Pastors Leadership Community, a 2-year peer-learning program made possible through a partnership between L2 Foundation and Leadership Network. Each of the pastors in this group are senior pastors leading their respective multi-Asian/ Multi-ethnic churches. During the course of this summer, I'll be interviewing to capture the stories of how these new kinds of churches are reaching the next generation of Asian Americans. Here are 4 of those stories:
- Pastor Kevin Doi of Epic Church in Fullerton, California. Watch this video:
- Pastor Seth Kim of Harvest Mission Community Church (HMCC). Harvest Mission Community Church started in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and now is a multi-site church with locations in Chicago and Evanston, Illinois, Austin, Texas, and Jakarta, Indonesia. Watch this video of the phone interview combined with a slide show of photos from the church:
- Pastor David Kim of The Garden in Chatsworth, California. The Garden is a 15 year old church that grew out of a college ministry, and continues to reach hundreds of next generation Asian Americans in the Los Angeles area. Watch the video:
- Pastor Yun Choi of New Life Community Church in Palatine, Illinois. Watch this video:
