Comments

I think the idea is a good one. I pastored two small churches where I was the only teacher/leader/pastor. I failed miserably. I am now a youth pastor (again), but would have enjoyed (I think) being a co-pastor, or on a pastoral leadership team where I still had some leadership influence, but also a designed role that fit my personality and giftedness.

A testimony to this practice done well is seen at Preston Trail Community Church in Frisco, TX. www.prestontrail.org. I worked for a short time with Jim Johnson and Paul Basden who pastor this church together with Senior Pastor titles. Both preach and both lead. They are also opposites in style, structure and giftedness. Their model lends to a healthier and more productive staff and church body.
