Well it's cold here in Atlanta with a small bit of snow covered in ice. Lucky for me I have a three-step commute to my office. But many on our staff team have had snow this week. I think our South Florida team members were the only exceptions.
But despite the weather the work has gone on and is off to a fast start.
1. I posted a small blog post on business cards which generated lots of good comments. People are passionate about those things. Fascinating to me. http://learnings.leadnet.org/2010/01/do-we-.html
2. I had a good talk with Patrick Johnson who is leading the Generous Church Initiative for National Christian Foundation. He was telling me about some future plans. The Generosity space for churches has really exploded in the past few years.
Here in the same week I got the invite to the Christian Stewardship Network Forum http://www.christianstewardshipnetwork.com/ to be held in February. I have been before and if you are a Stewardship Pastor at a church, it is a key event.
And I heard from Brian Kluth, Generosity Pastor at Large, about some of his New Year Goals, http://www.generouslife.info/ for more on that.
On that subject, we are completing our fifth Generous Churches Leadership Community and moving that program to our New Leadership Network Innovation Lab process. If you lead a large church and want to get serious about creative Generosity Strategies for your church, connect with Chris Willard on our team at chris.willard@leadnet.org. http://innovationlab.leadnet.org/
And Chris did a video on it as well - see this link for more on that. http://learnings.leadnet.org/2009/12/new-generosity-innovation-lab.html
4. I started blogging on THE NINES doing some run up our big Aha! event. I have scheduled several great highlights over the next few weeks.
5. Todd Rhoades and Bonnie Randle tell me that all the speakers are confirmed for Aha! on March 3, 2010. We will release that soon.
6. Warren Bird and Stephanie Plagens are already planning for the Salary Survey and Economic Outlook survey coming up later this year. Right now they have the Lean Staffing survey underway. More info here: http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/?p=WEB22A2DVD9UC9)
Well the College Bowl season is finally over and our team members are alumni of a bunch of the bowl bound teams. But I am afraid our Texas, Georgia Tech (me), TCU, South Carolina, Cal folks are all cryin.
We have Texas Tech alum and fans. They won but lost a coach. The Virginia Tech fans are also happy.
The Wheaton, Dallas Baptist and Cedarville fans are confused.
More later.
