The last two weeks have been circle-back time in our Leadership Network Women's Executive Pastor/Director Leadership Community. Since launching in September, 2009, when 16 phenominal women leading from this second-chair position gathered in Dallas, this group has been working on strategic plans and goals for their church and leadership growth. It's been exciting to hear about the successful launch of new multisite campuses, new initiatives being launched in Groups Ministry and the lives being changed by Christ's power working in their congregations.
Just one of the exciting stories has been the new initiative launched at Crosspoint Church in Nashville, TN. Starting as a dream by Executive Pastor Jenni Catron, CultivateHer is a monthly gathering now reaching far beyond their church walls.
Following the theme 'wherever you lead, lead well', women in the Nashville community are encouraged to discover their leadership skills through assessments, discussion groups, and the CultivateHer blog. As the word has spread, women from the community and area businesses have come to check it out. At each gathering, women not only connect with each other to cultivate their leadership gifts, but also hear first-hand how God can transform their lives and use them beyond what they've ever dreamed. Jenni says it's exciting to see women of all ages, all backgrounds, discovering together who God made them to be.
So how about your church? How do you encourage your women to use their unique gifts in the church or community for Christ? It's true that in many churches, the biggest untapped group of leadership potential is women. It's also true that many women wait until someone recognizes that potential in them before they step up and lead. Email me sherry.surratt@leadnet.org or reply here with your ideas.
Sherry Surratt, Leadership Network Director
Sherry, I'm so thankful for other women leaders like you who have encouraged my gifts and challenged me to cultivate them. This is my way of helping to do that same thing for other women. It's exciting to see God working in these leaders lives!
Thank you for sharing our story!

Sherry, I love the creative ministry God developed in Crosspoint and want to increase that same creativity and empowerment in ministries elsewhere. I will share this encouraging story to inspire others. How good it is to see God doing awesome things when ordinary people step up to lead the way God intends. Awesome.
Thanks for sharing!
