Next Week – Aha! – The Questions and Answers
At the conference this week here were the questions about Aha! our next online conference just a week from today. (http://aha.leadnet.org)
Its 3/3 at 12 Noon EASTERN/9 Pacific.
So What is This?
It’s an online conference similar to what we did for THE NINES last year. You don’t have to travel anywhere to take part. If you missed THE NINES, basically we have about 40 speakers all addressing a single topic this time. It will last about 4 hours and not 12 hours.
We asked everyone to share an Aha! moment in their life. How did that moment change them. Trust me, I have seen the videos, it’s fascinating.
So, it’s not as BIG
as THE NINES?
Well that depends. We had 77 speakers for THE NINES. And although a lot of folks saw it through, it was not our best design. So we have taken the feedback and created something new and different.
Our streaming provider (Lightcast by the way and they are helping us again this time) said there were around 25,000 live viewers for THE NINES. Because of the shorter length and the design, I doubt we will have that many but it will be big.
We have leaders from 6 continents; I think every state in
the
There aren’t as many “big
names” this time, why?
Well first of all there are some very interesting speakers. No, some aren’t well known, but we think they will be.
We designed this experience to draw out Ahas from a variety of people. We have pastors, business leaders,“lay” people. We have large and small church pastors. We have authors, European pastors, and the like.
Can I get a schedule?
Yes and No. As with THE NINES we think part of the fun is the serendipity nature of the experience. Finding people you have never heard of that have good things to say and taking the messages as they come.
But the biggest feedback we got from participants from THE NINES was “I want to know when my favorite is on so I can hear them and skip the rest.” Sort of cheapens the deal for us, but that is up to you.
And also, we don’t work a strict time schedule. We have an order, but because this is “live TV”, things happen and we have to adjust on the fly.
But we do have a compromise and it is the answer to the next question.
What is this premium
option?
Well in response to how we did it last time we decided to have to options. A free option and a paid option. For FREE you get a great experience online. All the video, all the chances at the giveaways, all the commentary running on the screen, all the chances to dialogue with other participants throughout the day. So again, that is all free. I think we will use #ahaLN for the hashtag.
IF you register for the PREMIUM option you get a program book sent to you before the conference. It has speaker bios, notes, twitter addresses and the like.
PLUS it has questions for discussion if you are making this a team experience. (We had quite a few staffs use it for development last time). It’s a very attractive, engaging piece that adds an extra layer to the experience.
PLUS in the premium registration you get a free electronic copy of one of our books from our friends at Zondervan. I think it is Multi Site Road Trip.
How much?
Premium is 20 bucks.
Regular is FREE.
You mentioned
Giveaways, schwag, etc. How bout that?
Well our prize patrol including our publishing partners and others have some things that we will figure out how to giveaway during the broadcast. You will need twitter probably to participate. Follow @leadnet.
And we won’t know who is premium or free so it will be a little random that way.
And Todd Rhoades is giving away an iPad too sometime during the broadcast.
Will I have time to
go to the bathroom this time?
Depends if you can make it four hours. Seriously, we took breaks every 30 minutes or so during THE NINES to do some live announcements and promos. We figured folks went then. I was surprised at how many said they didn’t want to miss a minute.
Will you do the
archives again?
Eventually. No promises as we are really swamped right now.
But hopefully and eventually.
Where do I go?
To register: http://aha.leadnet.org – and you do need to register as we will send out a specific web address to find us that day.
But be online and with a good internet connection and the speakers turned on.
And yes, for those folks that get there early, we may have a few surprises.
Are you going to have
the online green room chatter again? It was kind of corny.
Probably, it’s too much fun. But if you follow @davetravis or @toddrhoades on twitter you will get that. Probably won’t inflict that on everyone.
Feel free to ask more questions in the comments. We will try and get to them.
